New Artist at Ritual- Mallory Kaye - Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Mallory Kaye Stevens grew up in the Portland area and has lived here her whole life. She has studied art for the past four years at Oregon State University, Portland Community College, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art. She hopes to eventually get a degree in illustration and do freelance illustrating. Mallory recently traveled to Senegal, Africa on a study abroad trip through PNCA. The students studied art in Africa as well as the culture and people. Her recent work is a reflection of her time in Africa. She illustrated the beauty of the land in paintings of baobob trees, as well as the pollution and litter through more abstract paintings. In addition to pursuing art, Mallory is planning on attending Portland State University in the fall to study health and fitness. She spends a lot of her time doing physical activities like running and kickboxing.
